i feel empty smtimes as well...
you know, everyone's iman will go up and down, cos if the iman is always up, u could become arrogant and have pride, or if you're iman is always low, then you'll stay depressed or get far away from Allah.
so, basically, everyday will be different. roller coaster-like.
